At Congreso Panamericano GDL, we prioritize the experience of our attendees while ensuring that valuable content is accessible. Below are the key points regarding our session recording policy:
- All sessions will be recorded for the purpose of creating a resource library for attendees.
- Recordings will be available to registered participants after the conference concludes.
- By attending, you consent to being recorded during sessions. If you prefer not to be recorded, please inform the session moderator.
- Recordings may be used for promotional purposes, including but not limited to social media and future event marketing.
- Attendees are encouraged to engage with speakers and ask questions, but please be mindful of the recording process.
For any questions or concerns regarding our session recording policy, please reach out to our support team.
Practical Notes on Recording, Privacy and Personal Devices
Knowing how recording works in practice makes it easier to take part comfortably. Most session rooms have fixed cameras aimed at the stage and lectern, plus microphones that pick up the speaker and any audience questions asked through a handheld or aisle microphone. If you want to ask something but would rather your voice not appear in the archive, you can pass a written question to the moderator, who can read it aloud without naming you. Seats near the front and along the centre aisle are the ones most likely to appear in wide shots, so choose a side or rear seat if you prefer to stay out of frame.
Personal recording by attendees
Official recordings are made so that individual attendees do not need to film whole talks themselves. As a courtesy to speakers, who may be presenting unpublished research or sensitive material, please follow these general guidelines:
- Take photos without flash and avoid holding devices up in a way that blocks others' view.
- Do not record full sessions on your own device unless the speaker or moderator has said this is fine.
- Respect any slide marked as confidential or not for distribution, and do not share it online.
- Ask before photographing individual attendees, especially in workshops and small-group discussions.
Speakers and content rights
Presenters usually agree to recording when they confirm their slot, but individual speakers may ask for certain segments, slides or Q&A portions to be left out of the published version. If you are presenting and have concerns, raise them well before the event so they can be handled during editing. You can review session formats on the program page and find presenter details under Speakers.
Accessing the library later
Access to recordings is tied to your registration, so keep the email address you registered with active and check that your details are correct. Editing, captioning and review take time, which means recordings normally appear gradually rather than all at once. If a session you need is missing or you want something removed, use the contact page and mention the session title and time so the request can be traced quickly.
