Faye Webster unveils the dates of the 2023 tour, shares new singles but no stream

Faye Webster's sound and what her touring years meant for fans

Faye Webster is a singer-songwriter from Atlanta, Georgia, whose music blends indie folk, soft rock, R&B and a strong streak of pedal steel guitar. That last ingredient is central to her sound: the sliding, sighing tone of the pedal steel gives her songs a slightly country-tinged melancholy that sits alongside understated vocals and dry, often funny lyrics about loneliness, crushes and everyday routines. Albums such as Atlanta Millionaires Club and I Know I'm Funny haha built her a devoted following well beyond the Atlanta scene where she started out, partly through her links with the city's hip-hop community.

The 2023 tour referred to in the headline has now passed, so the dates are of historical interest rather than something to plan around. What remains useful is understanding how her live shows tend to work. Webster usually performs with a full band, and the pedal steel is as prominent on stage as it is on record. Her concerts lean towards a relaxed, intimate atmosphere rather than spectacle, which makes mid-sized theatres and clubs a natural fit.
